Who We Are

The heart of Partners is a "people-to-people" philosophy, which grew out of a 1962 call by President John F. Kennedy for citizens of the western hemisphere to work together. Inspired by the challenge, Jim Boren, one of our founders, envisioned a two-way network of volunteer partnerships that would enable everyday people to contribute to communities in the Americas.

The mission is simple and effective, we help people improve their quality of life in practical, sustainable ways.  We do this with a network of people-to-people programs that promote community development.  The primary beneficiaries are the people of Nicaragua, however a parallel impact occurs in WI where W/NP volunteers acquire an appreciation for the value of helping their fellow man.  On average, 5-7 sea van containers are shipped annually.  A vital, mutual relationship existes between WI and Nicaragua where people come to realize we need each other to achieve the outcomes that will ultimately affect thousands of people in need.

What We Do

Wisconsin/Nicaragua Partners of the Americas, Inc., (W/NP), is a not-for-profit, non-political organization working to enhance quality of life in both Wisconsin and Nicaragua, by people-to-people programs promoting cultural awareness and sustainable community development.
