QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of training course provided in house including but not limited to: Body mechanics, knowledge of hospital/clinic location of departments and services.


Experience: None. Technical skills a plus. Customer service background a plus.


Attributes: Must be independent, self-starter with good communication skills. Multi-tasking skills a plus. Friendly, energetic, professional, empathetic personality with positive attitude.


Special Skills: Good interpersonal skills. Good public relations skills with the ability to remain calm, collected and pleasant in numerous interactions during busy shift.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Pushing/Pulling: Wheelchair or assist with cart/bed throughout hospital on

Carpet or tile surface. (40lbs.)

Standing: Able to stand in place for 15-30 minutes

Walking: Able to be on feet - (walking/standing) for majority of shift

Reaching: Some bending necessary

Vision: Necessary

Hearing: Necessary

Fine Motor Coordination: Necessary

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Transport patients in wheelchairs/or assist with transport of patent in cart/bed. (assist with guiding patient to wheelchair)

2. Demonstrate understanding of how to properly use a wheelchair, staxi and transcart.

3. Transport clean patient related items.

4. Verify correct patient and location.

5. Maintain safety, quality and infection control.

6. Communicate with dispatch and units.

7. Maintain log of activities as required.

8. Function as a team member.

9. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned during downtime.

10. Demonstrate how to correctly answer telephone and ask for request clarification.

Answer the phone and record all staff requests for patient transport or escort service within the hospital and AMG Clinic.  This includes the delivery of patient-related materials, including patient belongings, lab specimens, radiology films, etc.  Must be able to clearly hear the staff request and to communicate to the PACE Transport Volunteer.

Volunteer: Surgical Waiting Area Support

Position summary: Available to assistthe surgery and GI Department waiting room. The volunteer will monitor the waiting area and take phone calls from the surgery and GI department and communicate with the family/friend waiting for someone to finish a procedure.  

Training:Volunteer will train with the Volunteer Coordinator to learn the processes and tools needed for the assignment. Training is usually completed after 1-2 trainings.  

Qualifications/Attributes: Must have good communication skills, friendly, positive attitude, empathetic personality, professional, team player. 

Physical Demands: 

Some walking. Be able to bend and put away supplies that are delivered to the area. Nutritional items are delivered for the hospitality area. 


Major tasks and Responsibilities: 

Be comfortable with using/operating the phone. 

Learn the process for registering/signing in family/friends.  

Be supportive and inviting to people who are waiting  

Be able to assist guests with wayfinding as needed.  

Keep waiting area neat
