Volunteer: Sib Pab Meal Delivery

A disparity in access to food, and that is culturally appropriate, was found in the Hmong community among elders and disabled residents. By partnering with CAP Services Hmong Uplift program and local Hmong restaurants and farmers, we are able to hold a program that closes the gap lack of food access.

How the program works:

1) Drive meals out to registered families and drop off at homes.

Weekly Volunteer Shifts :

Tuesday 4-5:00PM

 

Volunteer Tasks include:

Driving meals to Hmong families in the Stevens Point and Plover area. Directions will be provided.

What to Wear/Have:

Casual, unsoiled clothing that you are comfortable in.

2) Meals are delivered by volunteers to the families a couple hours after the meals are prepared.

Do you love to work outdoors? Do you love the smell of fresh air and getting your hands dirty? Consider joining Farmshed this summer as a vegetation clearing volunteer!

 

Volunteers Needed: 1-4

Length of commitment: September - November,  Four days/week

Day/Time: Volunteers may schedule to come at anytime between 2pm - 3:30, 3:30-5:00PM Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

Volunteers will assist with clearing back garden to prepare it for becoming a fully functional garden. 

 

Duties:

 Volunteers will be given a tour of the property and equipment used. Volunteers will learn how to access the lawn equipment and will be given a weekly task log to follow.
