Volunteer: Senior Advocates needed in Portage County!If you enjoy engaging with older adults, this opportunity could be perfect for you! We are looking for volunteers to advocate for and improve lives of seniors living in long term care facilities in Portage County communities. Volunteer advocates make weekly unannounced visits to a designated nursing home or assisted living facility, observe general conditions, meet with residents, educate them about their rights and empower residents to resolve concerns on their own. Our volunteers are friendly visitors on a mission of advocacy! Training and materials are provided and ongoing support is always available. This opportunity is flexible and visits are 1-2 hours in duration and can be made any day of the week between 8am-8pm.
