Support Community, Build Relationships & Help Central Rivers Farmshed run EBT at the Stevens Point & Wisconsin Rapids Farmers' Markets this summer!

Farmshed will have a presence again this year at the Stevens Point (Saturdays) and Wood County (Thursdays) Farmers' Markets.

An EBT machine will be hosted at our tent, allowing FoodShare participants to use their benefits with farmers at the market.  We need volunteers to help staff this table - build your resume, support your community, increase access to fresh local food, and have a chance to learn about running EBT and educational programming at farmers markets!  To learn more about farmers market EBT programs visit:

We will also be partnering with chefs and other organizations to offer free cooking demos and other educational events all season long!

The volunteer experience carries a good amount of responsibility and trust and requires a commitment of one Saturday volunteering (7:30am-2:30pm) per month of the Farmers' Market season (June-Oct.). A small amount of heavy lifting is required as there is a cart that has to be wheeled down to the market with all of the market supplies. The market is held rain or shine so the volunteer should be able to tolerate and dress for the the elements. After October, we will seek volunteers to help us with the Stevens Point Area Winter Market as well.

Please email if you or your organization would like to get involved. In your email include which market (Portage Co. or Wood Co.) you are interested in serving. In late May/Early June we will hold a training at Farmshed to get you familiar with our organization at the role at the market. Date to be determined based on volunteers' availability.
