Works with media and fundraising manager on social media and communications plan as well as various public relations projects in presenting, resources and information in a way the best informs the media and general public about the Salvation Army's work in the community.

Will use creativity to help with content creation and production surrounding The Salvation Army Hope Center initiatives, programs, and stories. 

Use social media outlets( Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snap Chat, Linked In, etc.) to promote The Salvation Army's events, initiatives, programs and stories. Schedule out our social media calendar for current and potentially new platforms.

Assists with special events logistics and preparations, composing electronic invitations, preparing meeting materials and capturing event highlights in photos to use on social media outlets.

About the Role:

As a Fundraising Event Planning Committee Member, you will assist with the organization and execution of fundraising events that support the vital work we do in our community. You’ll collaborate with a team of dedicated volunteers and staff to plan and coordinate events such as our annual gala, silent auctions, and community fundraisers.

Responsibilities:

Attend committee meetings monthly and stay engaged with committee members to contribute ideas and feedback regularly as requested Assist in brainstorming and planning fundraising events Assist with event logistics as needed Help us promote our events Support day-of-event operations, including registration, guest engagement, and volunteer coordination

Qualifications:

Passion for community service and fundraising Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work as part of a team and independently Experience in event planning, marketing, sponsorship outreach, or fundraising (preferred but not required)

Time Commitment:

Flexible; varies depending on event timelines Monthly planning meetings plus additional time as needed closer to event dates

Evening Meal Preparation

We are excited to welcome individuals or groups who have a passion for cooking and would like to volunteer their time to prepare an evening meal for the residents of the Hope Center! You have the flexibility to either cook the meal in the comfort of your own home or use our fully equipped kitchen at the center.

The only requirements for this volunteer position are basic food preparation skills and the ability to cook for a group of 20-40 people. Your efforts will make a significant difference in the lives of our residents, and we would be thrilled to have you join us in this meaningful endeavor.

Position Description:

We are looking for dedicated individuals to collect donated food items from various locations, including Metro Market, Festival, Starbucks and St. Michael's Hospital. This role is crucial in supporting our mission to help those in need.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a firm commitment to the Mission of the Salvation Army, a valid driver's license, and the ability to interface with staff. Good people skills are essential, and you must be approved as a Salvation Army driver to use the company vehicle.

Hours Needed:

Volunteers are needed Mondays, Thursdays, and/or Fridays, from 8:00am to 10:00am, with hours tailored to suit individual availability. Certain days are designated for donation pickups.

Physical Requirements:

You should be able to lift boxes and other items up to 20 lbs. 

Atmosphere: 

This position involves working in a shelter environment, providing support to those facing homelessness and hard times.

This role ensures smooth office functions while providing a warm and welcoming environment for visitors, clients, and staff.

Responsibilities:

Greet and assist visitors, clients, and volunteers with a friendly attitude Answer phone calls, take messages, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff Assist with clerical tasks as needed Maintain an organized and welcoming front desk area Support and assist with other administrative projects as needed Follow confidentiality policies and uphold the mission of our organization

Qualifications:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills Basic computer skills Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Friendly, professional, and compassionate demeanor Previous administrative or customer service experience is a plus but not required
