Who We Are
COVID-19 Volunteer Changes:
Aspirus has been working diligently to prepare for the Coronavirus (COVID-19) to prevent or slow the spread of COVID-19. This includes visitor restrictions to reduce the number of people entering the hospital building. We place a high priority on the health and safety of our patients, families, employees, providers, and especially our volunteers.
At this time, we are suspending all volunteer services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital until further notice. This includes Aspirus Family House and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Please visit the Aspirus website (aspirus.org) for the most current information about COVID-19 and learn how you can keep yourself and your family healthy and safe.
Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services offers hospice, palliative and grief care. When active treatment is no longer the focus of care for an illness, hospice care concentrates on relieving symptoms and supporting patients and their families. Hospice patients generally have a life expectancy measured in months rather than years.
What We Do
Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services mission is to provide and ensure meaningful and compassionate comfort (palliative) and end-of-life care. This will be accomplished by competent, financially responsible, caring staff and volunteers who work collaboratively with other providers.
