Who We Are
The Boston School Forest is an 80-acre property that was donated by Mr. Harry D. Boston in 1937. Of the donated parcel, 45 acres are owned and managed by the Stevens Point Area Public School District (SPAPSD). Between the years of 1937 and 1977,school children planted over 111,000 trees transforming this once agricultural land to a secondary forest that would be used by generations of Stevens Point students.
What We Do
We proudly serve 6,000 students in grades 4K-10 every single year! BSF staff conducts high quality environmental education programs in a range of topics that corresponds with the classroom curriculum. In short, we get kids outdoors exploring, learning, investigating, analyzing, trying out new skills, and having a whole lot of fun in the forest! In addition to our school programs, youth groups utilize the facility on the weekends for scout events and team building activities. BSF hosts several events each year including the Winter Open House in January and the Earth Day Celebration in April.
