The Advisory Board works to support and strengthen The Salvation Army’s mission in our community by helping guide its programs, services, and outreach. Board members collaborate to develop and carry out strategic plans that enhance facilities, expand services, and grow community engagement through increased volunteers, visibility, and financial support, all while partnering closely with the Corps Officer. Members bring a passion for the mission, an understanding of the community’s needs and strengths, and a willingness to contribute their experience, connections, and time to help advance this important work.
As a board member, you serve as both a strategic leader and an enthusiastic ambassador. You help ensure the organization remains mission-focused, ethical, and impactful while stewarding resources responsibly and building strong community awareness. Members actively participate in meetings, committees, and special events, support fundraising efforts—including making a personal annual contribution—and help shape and implement the organization’s strategic plan. By recruiting new members and continuously strengthening the board’s effectiveness, you play a key role in creating a vibrant, engaged team dedicated to making a meaningful difference.
