Provide interaction with clients. As the volunteer, encourage and assist each client during planned activities in the day service and in the community. Volunteers are encouraged to share their own talents, (musical, writing, artistic, etc) to enhance the day service.
Activities can be, but are not limited to:
- Crafts
- Watching movies
- Playing games
- Painting
- Going for walks
- Reading books
- Cooking/baking
- Exercise
- Cleaning
- Rising along to community activities as extra support to staff and clients
Recommended Qualifications:
- High level of comfort working with adults with disabilities
- Reliable
- Able to follow instructions
- Patience
- Respectful
- Able to maintain client confidentiality
- Acceptable criminal record and background information disclosure
- Not listed with the Department of Health and Family Services or Regulation and Licensing or any other applicable state department or agencies with a finding of abuse, neglect, misapporpration of funds, if applicable
