WHAT: Illinois Wisconsin Search Dogs (ILLWIS) is hosting a National Search Dog training seminar at the Wisconsin Lions Camp in Rosholt, Wisconsin the week of September 16th, 2024. We are looking for fifteen (15) volunteers per day on September 16, 17, 18, and 19, to walk trails from 8am-5pm (may finish early).

WHY: The part you play is a necessary element to properly train both handlers and dogs so they are prepared when called for an actual missing person search. We are professional volunteers and must be certified to help law enforcement to conduct these vital searches.

WHERE: Rosholt Lion's Camp @ 3834 County Road A, Rosholt, Wi. 54473. Meet in the dining hall.

WHEN: September 16, 17, 18, 19 > Please be at the Lions camp on or before 8:00am. Training will finish by 5pm, but possibly earlier.

WHO WE ARE: Illinois Wisconsin Search Dogs (ILLWIS) is a 501 c(3) all volunteer search organization (EIN # 36-3702441) that has assisted Law Enforcement and Fire Rescue Departments find missing and lost people for over 37 years

The below may or may not be needed depending on weather conditions. Be sure to look at the weather forecast for your volunteer day. You may be placed in a building, in the woods, a field or in town.

Pay careful attention to your instructor and what your role will be.

Suggested dress: jeans, comfortable top, light jacket or hoodie, sturdy shoes.

Items to bring: Bug repellent, lawn chair, small blanket, book, water, power bar, any necessary medications, rain parka, possible change of clothes and sun screen
