Volunteers help sort, label and pack items to be shipped to Nicaragua.
40 ft. sea containers filled with items to support programs are shipped annually from Stevens Point to Managua, Nicaragua. A LOT happens from the time people "drop off" donations to being ready to load containers. Generally the 3rd Thursday of each month, (WITH EXCEPTION - MARCH WILL BE THE 4th THURSDAY of the month) we invite volunteers to come to the warehouse and help sort, label, inventory and pack the donations headed for Nicaragua. We take special care to ensure all donations are appropriate, needed and in good condition. All items need to be either strapped to a pallet, or put in 4x4x4 gaylord boxes.
Our next "W/NP Warehouse Packing Day" is Thursday, March 28th and all who appreciate working together for the good of others are welcome to join in.
Humanitarian shipments include educational supplies, sewing machines, sports equipment, bookshelves, chairs, desks, firefighting gear and bicycles. The objective for the project is to help improve quality of life, vocational options, income, self-sufficiency and empowerment for people living throughout Nicaragua.
We look forward to meeting new volunteers! Please see website for more details. www.wisnic.org
