Sharing the stories of Portage County, Wisconsin through education and preservation, PCHS presents resources, exhibits, and programming that cover the various histories of Stevens Point, Plover, Amherst and the smaller communities of the county. Established in 1952.
What We Do
PCHS presents resources, books, oral histories, tours, exhibits, and programming that share the rich history of Portage County, WI. We operate and maintain four historic sites: Heritage Park, Plover; Beth Israel Synagogue, Stevens Point; Fire House No. 2, Stevens Point; Rising Star Mill, Nelsonville.
